What is Extended Skills and where does it fit into training
What is Extended Skills?- GP Registrars proceeding towards the Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) must undertake 6 months of their training in Extended Skills.
- Extended Skills may be undertaken in a general practice setting or any other area of special interest relevant to general practice, such as hospital based posts, community based posts or academic posts.
- Extended Skills in general practice can only be undertaken after the required 18 months of general practice terms has been completed.
- Extended Skills in other settings may be undertaken at different stages of training, depending on the type of post.
