Applications for the AGPT 2014 Intake have now closed.  It is anticipated that applications for the AGPT 2015 Intake will likely open in mid April 2014.  Visit the AGPT website for further information about the AGPT application and selection process.

To participate in Australian General Practice Training (AGPT), you must apply to General Practice Education and Training (GPET) which oversees the program. For more information please visit the AGPT website on www.agpt.com.au and go to the Apply for AGPT menu item. Applications for AGPT normally occur on an annual basis. Applications for each training year are usually called for from mid April to mid May in the previous year.

Interested in GP and want to talk to some about it?


  • Contact the CSQTC office on 07 35528100 and speak with our Hospital Liaison Officer/Medical Educator, or one of our support staff.
  • If you are presently working in the hospital system, visit the GP Australia website www.gpaustralia.org.au to find out if there is a GP Ambassador based in your hospital and join the Going Places network.
  • Visit the Going Places QLD page on the GP Australia website Event Listing to see if there is an event happening near you.  You will get the opportunity to meet GPs working in the profession at the Going Places events.


The information on the AGPT website http://www.agpt.com.au/ApplyforAGPT/NewApplicants/ will assist prospective applicants in determining their eligibility for the AGPT Program.

If you are applying to CSQTC and wish to commence your first training unit in a hospital job via Qld Health, please visit their website http://www.health.qld.gov.au/medical/default.asp.
