Rural and Remote Medicine Training
The key to successful preparation and training for rural and remote medicine is to work in high quality rural Practices with Trainers who are excellent role models. CSQTC is fortunate to have an excellent group of rural Practices available to GP Registrars. The rural qualifications are:
- Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine, conferred by the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM)
- Fellowship in Advanced Rural General Practice, conferred by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)

It is essential that GP Registrars plan all aspects of rural training individually with CSQTC staff, especially at Training Adviser meetings. CSQTC has two Associate Directors of Medical Education - Rural, who are also available to discuss any aspect of rural and remote training with Registrars and Trainers. In this way, we can help you to maximise the rural learning experience and to access all the support available. Our Associate Directors of Medical Education - Rural can be contacted through the South West Queensland District Office and the Central Queensland/Fraser Coast District Office.
