Support services (non-CSQTC)

CSQTC aims to provide a high level of support to our GP Registrars, GP Trainers, Practice Managers, Junior Doctors, Medical Students in relation to their involvement in AGPT, PGPP or First Wave Scholarships. However, CSQTC also encourages GP Registrars, GP Trainers, Practice Managers, Junior Doctors, Medical Students to share ideas in any way possible to improve their experiences within the general practice training and education environment, and to share experiences and knowledge with each other. To assist in this endeavour, we would like to provide links to some additional support services available which you may find useful:

  • ePsychConnect.com - is a website focusing on depression, anxiety and related disorders.  It is both a resource as well as an opportunity to join a growing network of health professionals with in interest in mental health and wellbeing.
  • gpexamsupport.com.au - is a website (independent of the RACGP) designed to assist Doctors and Medical Students to work on their FRACGP exam preparation.  It will also serve as a forum for Doctors who have passed their exams to post in their "Hot Tips" for the exam.
  • GP Australia - this website is an initiative of GPRA to help junior doctors explore the world of general practice. It is an essential tool for any junior doctor considering a career in general practice.  This website also supports the Going Places Network initiative.
  • GPRegistrar.com.au - this website has been created by some GP Registrars, for the benefit of other GP Registrars. This is an initiative of the Registrars themselves. It is not a CSQTC project and is not accessible to CSQTC staff or Practices. The discussion board is open only to training Registrars, which means it is a protected forum for Registrar-to-Registrar discussion. It aims to facilitate networking and social interaction through sponsored external educational activities or any topics that Registrars feel are important. Input from Registrars at all levels and stages of training is important and there will be topics and discussion relevant to all. Given the importance of social networking in general practice training, and because this is not always possible to maintain on the few occasions where all Registrars are physically together, the discussion board allows geographically diverse Registrars a place to come together. By maintaining a site where discussions can be hosted, the developers hope to be able to provide a convenient way to exchange information and ideas, and develop social contacts. In developing this site where Registrars can freely interact, the developers hope that this discussion board provides a safe and supportive environment where you can share your experiences with one another.
  • GP Students Network - the General Practice Students Network (GPSN) is an initiative of GPRA. GPSN is a national medical student-run program using a peer-to-peer marketing model that seeks to foster interest in general practice and promote it as a specialty of choice.
  • National GP Supervisors' Association (NGPSA) - NGPSA advocates for GP Trainers, promotes recognition of the GP Trainer role, supports GP Trainers' professional development and supports those involved in 'in practice teaching'. At this stage the NGPSA does not have a website, however, at the RTP level, the Supervisor Liaison Officer (SLO) represents GP Trainers to the NGPSA.  Our current SLO is Dr Bruce Willett who can be contacted via email on slo@csqtc.qld.edu.au.  Further information about the NGPSA can be found on the NGPSA website www.ngpsa.org.au. On this website you will find information about the NGPSA Board, how to become a member, useful documents and contact details.
  • Practicepotential.com.au - an interactive website which exists as a forum for everything to do with Medical Practice Management . This site allows Practice Managers to share knowledge with each other.
  • r-cubed (Real Resilience Resources) is website that has been developed by GPRA to assist GP Registrars, Medical Students and Prevocational Doctors.  Its aim is to provide useful strategies to help doctors build resilience and support networks to reduce the inevitable pressure that their work brings to  their lives. The site contains audio interviews, and professional and personal resources,  including book reviews.
