How are Practices' positions vacant advertised?

For details on the steps involved in Practices becoming Training Practices and how they get GP Registrars, please read our FAQs on the topic "How does a Practice get a GP Registrar?".

Practices' Positions Vacant

Details of all selected, accredited Training Practices are contained on the CSQTC Training Practice List for the current training year.

  • It is assumed that ALL practices on the Practice List have positions vacant for GP Registrars, unless otherwise specified.
  • The Practice's 'Training Practice Accreditation Classification' will determine which type of GP Term placements the Practice can offer GP Registrars.
  • Details of each Practice's availability for training placements for the current and/or forthcoming training year, where known by CSQTC, are included on the Practice List.
GP Term Placements for GP Registrars in their first 12 months of GP Terms are managed via the CSQTC Matching & Allocation Process (MAP) and each Practice participating in each MAP Round will have their MAP vacancy advertised on the Practice List.  The MAP has set dates and procedures which guide GP Registrars and Practices through the process of organising placements.

GP Registrars who are organising GP Term Placements for months 13 onwards (and Extended Skills in GP) are able to apply directly to Practices for their placements and are not bound by set dates during which these placements can be organised.

How can a Practice promote itself to GP Registrars?  CSQTC has established Interactive Map which contains information on each of our selected Training Practices. To find out more please visit the website page 'Interactive Map - How to Update Practice Information'.
