Where are CSQTCs practices located?

The CSQTC region consists of 7 local training areas, which we refer to as Nodes.  These are Central Queensland, Greater Brisbane and Valley, Logan/Gold Coast, South West Queensland/St George, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Surrounds and Wide Bay/Bundaberg.

Please read more about CSQTC's Training Practices.

The Greater Brisbane and Valley Node and the Logan/Gold Coast Node contain predominantly metropolitan/outer metropolitan Practices and each only has one or two rural Practices.

The Central Queensland, South West Queensland/St George, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Surrounds and Wide Bay/Bundaberg Nodes contain only rural Practices.

CSQTC GP Registrars can undertake general practice terms in any of the Nodes, but must be mindful of the requirements of training, including rural and outer metropolitan terms (for General Pathway GP Registrars), restrictions on practice locations for Rural Pathway GP Registrars and the requirement for ALL GP Registrars to work in at least two different Practices.

Most General Pathway GP Registrars who wish to complete the majority of their training in metropolitan/outer metropolitan areas will work in at least two different Nodes due to the need to undertake the compulsory six month rural GP term placement.

General Pathway GP Registrars do have the option to remain in one Node throughout their training.  Not every GP Registrar wishes to work in metropolitan areas and hence the option exists for General Pathway GP Registrars to remain in one rural Node throughout their training.  For example, a General Pathway GP Registrar may choose to undertake all of their training in the Central Queensland Node.  If this option is chosen, the GP Registrar would not be required to come to Brisbane to complete an outer metropolitan placement (which is one of the compulsory requirements of training for General Pathway GP Registrars).

Rural Pathway GP Registrars can remain in one Node throughout their training but can undertake general practice terms only in the Central Queensland, South West Queensland/St George, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba and Surrounds and Wide Bay/Bundaberg Nodes.

Due to the requirement to work in at least two different Practices during training, it may not be possible for GP Registrars to remain in some of the smaller, more remote towns in CSQTC's region if there is only one Training Practice located in the town.
